I’ve had moments when I’ve wondered, “Am I late?” Am I building fast enough? Achieving enough? Should I already be somewhere else?
It’s easy to look around and feel as though everyone is moving ahead. Someone is building a successful business. Someone else is financially independent or seems to have their whole life figured out.
Without noticing, I can start comparing what my life feels like from the inside with what someone else’s life looks like from the outside. I’ve done that too.
But life isn’t a race where everyone has to reach the same place at the same time. My timeline doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s.
Entrepreneurship has taught me that some things can’t be rushed. I can force a decision, push for growth, or try to demand an outcome. I can’t force maturity, clarity, or the person I’m becoming.
Some things take time. Some lessons need experience. Some versions of me can only exist after I’ve lived through certain chapters.
Maybe I’m not behind. Maybe I’m where I am, learning what I need for the next part of my life.
I don’t want to rush through my life just to prove that I’m progressing. I want to experience the process: to learn, create, make mistakes, and evolve.
If you’re feeling behind today, remember that your life isn’t late. It’s yours. You don’t have to arrive at someone else’s destination on someone else’s timeline.
