A Conversation I Will Never Forget

I was talking to my mother when I had just started my entrepreneurship journey. I told her about what I was going through: the uncertainty, the emotions, the fear, and the things I couldn’t make sense of.

She listened without interrupting or trying to stop me. She let me finish.

Then she said, “Things happen in life. But in these 25 years, I’ve watched you. No matter what happens, you always keep walking.”

She reminded me of the times I had walked through difficulties, through days when things didn’t make sense, and through moments when I didn’t know what would happen next.

Then she said, “Maybe things don’t look like they’re going the way you want right now. But one day, everything will fall into place because you have the courage to keep walking even when you have to walk alone.”

I didn’t realise how much those words would stay with me. Looking back, I can see what she meant. I have kept walking.

Some days I walked quickly. Other days I barely moved. There were days when everything felt heavy and I couldn’t find the aliveness I usually carry. But I kept going, even when I had less energy, less clarity, or less belief.

My biggest strength isn’t knowing exactly where I’m going. It isn’t that I’m always confident or never afraid. It’s that I don’t stop walking.

Sometimes walking means building. Sometimes it means resting and starting again. Sometimes it’s one small step when I don’t have the energy for ten. Sometimes it’s waking up the next day and choosing to continue.

I don’t know how long the road will be, how many turns it will take, or what I’ll find along the way. But I know this much: I will keep walking.

Maybe I don’t need to know exactly where the road ends. Maybe I just need to trust myself enough to take the next step.

So, who am I? She’s a woman who may walk slowly, lose her way, and have difficult days but she keeps walking.
